John Gartner’s Major Floor Care Story
I grew up on a Dairy and Livestock farm in Western Minnesota, I attended a small Catholic school (approx. 300 students in whole school grades 1-12) I started doing floor maintenance when I was 15 years old during school vacations helping Lawrence (the custodian) Strip & recoat floor VCT Floors, Screening and recoating wood floors, and carpet cleaning. Never thinking that it would ever lead to a floor maintenance business in the future.
After a formal education I have worked at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas as a Union Stewart, In Minnesota in the Construction Industry, Owned & operated his own Grain & Livestock Farm, Sales Executive in the Real Estate industry and Sales Executive in the Furniture industry, Owned & Operated a Commercial Floor Maintenance Company strictly maintaining office buildings which brings us up to date, adding on a residential Floor Maintenance Company.
As the current business started growing, I followed this advice of my High School Principal Father Brunner “ John whatever business profession you decide to get into, give it your 110%, be a perfectionist, built relationships, associate your yourself with the finest and never be satisfied with mediocre”. Those words became permanently implanted in my mind and have become the cornerstone of my attitude.
Through intense lecture, hands on training and exams, I’ve earned certifications in carpet cleaning, wood floor care & maintenance, Porcelain tile care, Marble, Terrazzo & Stone Care, Rubber Linoleum, Vinyl Floor Care, Bloodborne Pathogens, Quarry, Ceramic, Concrete Floor Care, and Water Damage Restoration. I am hungry to be the best cleaner ever anywhere! I have started working toward “Master Cleaner” status, the equivalent of a Masters degree in any other profession and I’m also a very active participant in an international Floor cleaning mastermind/mentoring group with the top 150 Floor Cleaners in the U.S.A, Canada, Mexico, Australia and the U.K.

They have been cleaning carpeting, tile & grout, strip & waxing and polishing marble in the Altamonte Springs area for the past 8 years. During that time they have completed instructional courses in a variety of floor cleaning and restoration areas. They are: Carpet Cleaning and Advanced Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning and Advanced Upholstery Cleaning, Odor Control, Smoke and Fire Restorations, Water Damage Restoration, Carpet Repair and Reinstallation, and Carpet Color Repair. Marble restoration, Quarry, Ceramic, Concrete, Wood, linoleum, VCT,and Rubber Floors. These certifications are received by attending classes and completion of written exams.
